The tones of Colour Flow 2023 add positive vibes to products. Colour evokes emotions and can enhance our well-being. It can be used as a universal language to express how we feel.
Brown colours, ranging from light to dark hues, are essential for the 2023 palette. Browns provide an earthy, grounded feeling and stand for inclusivity. They represent connection to the Earth, to ourselves and all of humanity. Warm neutrals set the tone for 2023; these shades can provide base colours for the coming years.
The orange to red tones express the yearning for warmth and connection. Orange tones with a greyish tinge provide a new take on basic colours. The yellows are still present but in reduced number. Ranging from light to bright shades, they are indispensable to all the narratives of Colour Flow 2023. The green tones range from light green through more yellowish-green to darker greens.
Purple and lilac shades are significant for the 2023 palette; these magical and unique tones play a role in adding dreaming mystery to our everyday lives.
Next to the lilacs, there are several pink tones, ranging from soft to more intense. The pinks express the importance of our emotional well-being and softer values. The more intense tones imbue products with an atmosphere of artificiality.

Pure black and white are included in the 2023 palette to provide solid contrasts and emphasise spatial division.

Colour Timing
SEASONAL AND NON-SEASONAL COLOURS

Colour Evolution
2022 to 2023
In the palette of 2023 the range of neutrals are followed up by a wide spectrum of light tones. The light colours are not soft pastels, they are light tones with identity. More variation in light colours creates more nuances and a softer colour language.
For 2023 the shift from yellow and orange-reds to brown and warm red tones is clear. The palette is warmer and the tones are more gradual, with small differences between them. They are beautiful when combined within the range. Although less sunny the palette has warmth and identity.
The green colours of 2023 have more yellow in them compared to the 2022 palette. The light tones represent growth in nature while the dark tones represent the timelessness of the Earth as it has existed long before us.
Instead of a wide range of blues for 2023 we see a range of lavender and purple tones. The tones are mysterious and greyish, while the blues were clear and democratic. The purple tones represent the new and the unknown while at the same time referring back to the seventies.
