Human Inner World
During the pandemic, many of us became companions and collaborators with our inner thoughts, infusing our work and our lives with endless dreams and ideas. The Culture of Care colour narrative of Color Flow 2023 explores the human inner world; our fantasy and imagination, our thoughts that enrich our lives and existence. Culture of Care resembles being in a dreamlike state.
Emotional Well-being
Prolonged time spent indoors during the pandemic has shown us just how vitally important our immediate environment is. The Colour Flow 2023 Culture of Care colour story is about how colours, shapes and materials can positively influence people’s emotional well-being. It explores how colours are linked to mood; for example, a white-blue stimulating “mood” is optimal for working hours, while a softer setting is more suited for moments of relaxation. Colour changes can be consciously programmed in an environment or product, depending on the desired atmosphere. Culture of Care positively influences our consciousness, drawing us towards opportunities in which we feel more at ease and less stressed.
Escape From Reality
When we were stuck at home, we started using our imaginations to create a sense of whimsicality in our everyday environment, bringing in the outside world, with the idea of escaping from reality. The Culture of Care colour narrative evokes a weird and playful atmosphere in which the imagination is allowed to run wild. Culture of Care also contains hints of nostalgia, but we know it is hard to long for a pre-pandemic return to “normalcy”, since the nostalgic normal was in fact unsustainable. The narrative has a surreal feel, based on the idea of escaping everyday reality and building an imaginary personal world.

The Palette
Culture of Care explores how a person experiences their environment and how an environment and objects can impact a person’s emotional state and influence their perception of the world around them. The colours each have their own identity; think of them as living entities. Culture of Care has its roots in softness, layers and colours reflecting emotional states. The Culture of Care palette reflects a refined colour sensibility; colours are quiet, soft and contemplative and bring to mind surreal dream landscapes. Light yellow, pink and green are the more delicate tones of the palette, next to the lilac, blue and orange mid-tones and the two darker purplish-brown shades. Culture of Care colours should not be used in tonal gradations; instead use your fantasy and play with colour combinations that truly set a product apart.
