Material Concepts
Regenerative Materials
We need circular materials for the creation of products that must be more durable and need to be recycled and reused. The Natural Evolution materials are regenerative materials that contribute to a healthier planet and benefit both people and nature. Natural materials such as wood, cotton and straw all have sustainability credentials. Carbon-neutral or carbon-negative materials can sequester large amounts of carbon from the atmosphere. The process starts with healthy soil and taking care of the start of the production chain. The use of regenerative materials symbolises a new concept of growth.
Ultra-light Metals
The materials of The Natural Evolution are committed to sustainability and follow a radical and uncompromising path to create the most sustainable products possible. Materials are ultra-strong and lightweight. The metals are ultra-lightweight aluminium, titanium metal and thin steel; these metals are recyclable and durable. Sprayed aluminium can be moulded to create unique shapes, it is super-performing and indestructible.
Go Green
To reduce pressure on the planet and improve its inhabitants’ health and well-being, we need to reconnect with nature. The concept of rewilding is an approach to restoring ecosystems that lets nature get on with minimum human interference. For rewilding, products need to reflect an ongoing conversation with the landscape. Ultra-strong materials are required for future nomadic lifestyles. Materials can tell the story of nature while being high-tech.
Construct
The Natural Evolution materials display traces of natural phenomena such as reed, mud, wind, wave, erosion and tideline mirroring patterns and structures. Surface and colour irregularities are characteristic features of the materials that are inspired by natural landscapes. Outdoor clothes are made from natural materials, coated to protect the wearer against wind and rain.
