Imagination

Mythopoetic is the first colour and material direction of Colour Flow 2024. The story reflects on the importance of a rich inner life, human imagination, the world of dreams and visual thoughts. Mythopoetic urges us to focus attention on the imaginative and spiritual realm as a vital part of understanding and changing the world. Transformation can be effected by looking at non-linear metaphors, myths, dreams and symbols. The images and stories of the poetic mind and soul can help expose deeper universal truths and enable us to explore worlds that are yet to be manifested. In Mythopoetic, poetry is a necessity and dreaming is the gateway to imaginative creation. Vulnerability, empathy, care and nourishment are this palette’s central themes.

Transcendence

Mythopoetic highlights a longing for universal beauty and a sense of the eternal, as if we are reconnecting with the Cosmos and seeking the light. It emphasises transcendence and finds inspiration in meditative and contemplative traditions. The colours and materials reflect the state of being one experiences in deep meditation. Breathe in these atmospheres, absorb how the colours make you feel and immerse your senses in the colour selection. Slow down, quieten the mind and start working with the colours in a state of reflection and contemplation.

Slow down

The Natural Evolution encourages you to use all of your senses, not just to progress, but to simply be there and sit still in the midst of nature. We experience an unburdening sensation through nature. Try to connect with plants and trees and help to create a future landscape in which people and non-humans can live together. When we start small and make nature, landscape, sustainability and resilience a more meaningful part of our individual lives, this then becomes easier on a larger scale as well. We will get through this pandemic and restore some sense of normality. We will return to our offices, and our kids will go back to school. But hopefully we won’t stop taking walks, digging in the garden, cooking and connecting with our community.
