Be guided by your values

Strategy

Create a positive company culture by embedding human values, well-being and creativity into the purpose of an organization. Look beyond financial goals to consider the needs of people and attract talent through creativity, human values and culture. Put employee

Spirituality within a company focuses on creating a culture of trust and openness to expressing feelings and emotions. Practice corporate empathy and provide employees with opportunities and a sense of purpose. Focus on personal development as a business model, personal growth equals professional growth.

As innovators and entrepreneurs, companies can use this time of uncertainty to guide us towards a more desirable future. Embrace radical ideas and follow intuitions; the urgency is now. It is the best time to try new things, no matter how radical they sound. This is the time when it is even more important to express your ideas, share widely and ask for input from others.

A business is an organization with products, experiences, or services designed by people for other people. Those who we create for are living, breathing people. It is time to serve people rather than consumers.

Quiet space

The Hyundai store in Seoul is designed by Laboratory with the strategy to provide visitors with a more spacious and relaxed shopping experience. Forty nine per cent of the 89,100 sqm space is intended for rest and recreation.

Areas in the shop have been created for relaxation and interacting with others, such as the Sage area. For this intimate, cosy environment, the designers looked to tea culture for shape, colour, and material inspiration. See more here

Made to last

BDDW is a small American internationally recognized furniture company dedicated to creating timeless, well-crafted designs. The company is led by founder Tyler Hays, who designs each piece before it is crafted in his Philadelphia studio. In his workshop in Philadelphia, visitors can step into his world.

The designs look like they are made to last, regardless of transient trends. Tyler has a passion for materials and how a piece comes together, how it is made and with what tools and processes. In addition, he reflects on what a piece of furniture may look like in 100 years and which part may be first to fail. Read more here

Mental health

The Mandala Lab in the Rubin Museum of Art in Manhattan focuses mainly on art and culture from the Himalayan region. Brooklyn-based architecture studio PRO has designed an interactive gallery to help people deal with daily challenges and emotional burdens. It is an interactive space for social, emotional and ethical learning that focuses on a collective experience rather than looking at art and objects.

The gallery’s exhibits and activities are influenced by five mental states that cloud people’s understanding: pride, attachment, envy, anger, and ignorance. Spaces are designed to encourage tranquillity and allow visitors to participate in a collective, synchronized breathing activity, creating a sense of community and involvement. See more here
